NodTuGud Posted March 2, 2013 Share Posted March 2, 2013 For the last week I gotten to level 50 numerous times but for some reason as soon as i'd get there I would no longer be able to save or quick save. I tried teaching myself TES5EDIT and using it and BOSS and Wrye Bash I thought I had finally gotten a good stable game. Not so- Everything was spectacular. Yesterday I played for 6 hours no stagger, no CTD nothing. Started from a clean save back in Riverwood and went all the way to Parthanax and Throat of the World! Woohoo - I'm back at LEVEL 50 and half way through and its screaming. Shutdown for the night - load continue, start to play...hit quick save CTD- start back up...load a saved game..start to save instead of quick save...CTD. Wrye Bash says its all good -BOSS says load orders correct. TES says everyone is green and happy but no joy. Since I couldn't think of anything else to do I deleted the whole thing from STEAM.. now I'm downloading again. The thing is I love the game but .. and I expect to have some problems with MODs but seriously - hopefully this time will be different. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Georgiegril Posted March 2, 2013 Share Posted March 2, 2013 The first thing I would recommend is to quit using quicksaves. They are much more likely to cause problems with savegame corruption.The second thing I would do, if you are not already, is to minimize your use of the console--limit it to only those times that you are absolutely stuck with a glitch that cannot be fixed any other way.After that, I would look at what is going on specifically for you with your mods, load order, and settings.Personally I generally get to level 90ish and quit because I am bored with my character rather than problems forcing me to quit, so I don't think what you are experiencing is inherent in the game but rather caused by some variables in your specific rig/setup/gameplay. NodTuGud Posted March 2, 2013 Author Share Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks - rigs top of the line. I'm sure its something to do with the mods and my cleaning them. I've written them since DOOM (the first one) in radiant and quark so I'm not unfamiliar with the process. All mods up and running - I just found the fly in the ointment :/ when skyrim and dragonborn reinstalled so did my mods in NMM including Riverside Lodge. I lost keys,masks, armor, and weapons unless I go back again to a save from level 49 and go back through it again - stupid me I forgot about that.
