SeraphicLaw
Is there any way in the game to 'see' the line of sight of a [visible] unit? Of all the things to find frustrating in this game, moving a unit to a flanking position only to find he inexplicably cannot see his target form where is is standing is beyond annoying - I find that the problem is usually associated with elevated positions, as the 'blind spot' beneath such perches seems to be FAR too wide. anUser
None that I know, but there are this two settings in the ini, NUM_TERRAIN_WIDTH and height or similar, which I read somewhere they controlled the base layout, but once I swapped values from width 7, height 5 to the opposite, and as a result my units couldn't see the enemy units that were half tile above mine (I mean they were in a ground level where I got partial cover, not even full cover, but my units standing below couldn't see anything happening avobe). It seems to me from that that this two values kind of set the size of tiles internally for some calculations, cause it didn't prevented my units from moving as usual. Ps: I seem to recall reading somewhere that the iReactionAngle setting on weapons sets the angle at which it can shoot, considering the direction the unit is looking at. I've been playing for a while with it set to 360 for every weapon, and may be that or I'm getting better at guessing LOS :) Edited March 7, 2013 by anUser
SeraphicLaw
I've had a lot of odd LOS issues in this game; I had an abduction mission on the bar map tonight and had an alien on the far East wall flanked on BOTH sides from around the North and South corner of the building - but neither one of them actually counted the target as being flanked for some odd reason.
