ObZen
I just found my first Glass Battle Axe and its damage is 4. I checked GameFaqs for its real damage, which seems to be 22. The enemy who was wielding it did massive damage, and in my hands the damage really feels like 4 :D Some other weapons have their damages reduced as well. I have not installed mods that affect melee weapon damage, only a bow damage increasing one. Any idea how to fix this? The game is updated to the latest version. The mods I have that possibly could affect this are: - Francesco's levelled creatures and items (no MOBS installed)- Eric's quad damage bows fast- Unofficial Oblivion Patch Alternatively, can I somehow edit weapon damages manually? Though I wouldn't like to go through every single item in the game manually, spoiling surprises and taking a huge amount of time... Edit: Or...defying all that has been said so far, does the listed weapon damage depend on your skill levels? :D Because my Blunt Skill is 10, while Blade is 66. My Elven Longsword damage is 11, and the list I'm reading from GameFaqs says its damage is 18. Sorry for the unclear explanation.

I would say without a doubt that possibly if it is a mod related problem that francescos leveled creature and items had a role in... being that it directly effects leveled items like weapons... armour. if not , leveled items work as to what level you are so if the enemy who was weilding was a much higher level then you were at the time, it would do that much more damage. yes you can modify the damage of the weapon yourself... if you want to open that door.I mean normally once you start cheating, its hard to stop... and it makes the game less enjoyable. but if you download the oblivion construction set and read some construction set basics at the construction set wiki, you can learn a whole lot of new things :-) like i said though if you want to open that door sometimes its hard to close it . dezdimona
without knowing your level, I can tell you their damage is dependant on your PC's level till it maxes out!
Vagrant0
without knowing your level, I can tell you their damage is dependant on your PC's level till it maxes out!More specifically, weapon damage is based on the skill and strength of the player. Not only might that NPC have been higher level, it might have also had alot higher skill. The damage a weapon does is all relative to the user. If you increase the base damage of a weapon, ALL persons using that weapon will deal more damage, not just you. The same is true for armor. The higher skill you have, the more it protects. Essentially, just because a weapon or armor is a higher material, doesn't mean it's better if you don't have the skill for that item. Axes are blunt weapons, which is why there might be some confusion if you're a blade user.
cjwaterkid
the same thing happened to me... a daedric dagger does 10 points of damage when it is supposed to do 19 and it is the same with every other weapon
