Skyrim mods won't show up in game

Hi i have a laptop Asus that has core i5 with 6 gb ram and Windows 8, i dont usually use NMM so i usually extract skyrim mod files into skyrim data folder and use it... By the way this is my new computer and i used to have windows vista and played skyrim this way but when i do it on my new computer, Data Files are not grayed out and you can actually choose mods, but it actually does not show in the game.... Lets say im using my cloak mod, then it says cloak.esp on data files but

it never shows up in the game.... plz tell me how to fix
