For console players out there, we’re hoping to release 1.9 later this month — we’ll keep you updated when we have specific dates.With recent changes to Steam, you’ll want to take the following steps to opt into the beta.Within your Steam Library, right click on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.Select PropertiesSelect the Beta tab and opt in using the drop boxIf you opt into the Beta, be sure to back up your saved games or simply be careful not to overwrite your existing saves. If you decide to opt out of the beta program, your old saves will still work with the current release of Skyrim on Steam (v 1.8).So what’s in the update? Initially, we recommend running using the update with no user-made mods installed, but the beta does provide you with an opportunity to test your creations before the update goes live for everyone. shadow56 Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 I see a major nightmare. Especially for those who have installed a lot of mods. It will break quite a few currently running games untill everything is ironed out. I made sure my automatic update via stream was turned off so this is not forced on me later on in the month when it goes live. Will wait a while before messiing with this update until the mods I am running are made fully compatable. Mod makers of current mods already on Nexus have a lot of work ahead with all the changes this update makes. And I am sure this update effects quite a few mods. It resets them to 15 and probably gives you the perk points back. Well damn that seems terrible. Hopefully your able to immedietly respend the perks for that tree. xlcr Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 nice, thanks for the info about update v1.9 going beta daventry.imho, current unmodded skyrim leveling system turns longterm gameplay unchallenging/overpowered/pointlessafter your player character/companions reach level 50 or more; so,looks like Bethesda's attempting to do something using somekind of global'legendary difficulty/skills/perks' reset tweak, bravo.Wish they fixed many of those quest issues earlier, glad they're getting around to it.Looking forward to this patch and probably a fresh install of Skyrim. Since I refuse to play without skse I opted out of the beta and will update until the 1.9 has fully been realised and skse has been updated.
