Purr4me
Can you still play the game after securom is removed? <<<Snipt>>> The only way to rid ourselves of this hardware (so I've read) damaging DRM garbage is that we stop buying the games in question. I don't mind the DRM as the publisher has a right to protect their product but don't screw me over in the process, such as damaging my hardware of violating my user rights.read the FAQ before Jumping to conclusions-and the information IS contained here on this site as well. http://www.securom.com/support_faq.asp It has noting to do with any games though the game may carry the bug, the bug was mentioned here in the thread was a HARDWARE Issue dealing with read or write components of the OS. 1 disc reads, the other does not, the hardware drivers for the hardware "ATA" device is whats being addressed with the information I provide. 2ndly, there is NO EULA Posted to the user agreeing to it's installation onto your PC. The game yes, that software NO.Games for windows Live is the control software Game related for which this site hosts the removal tool for as far a as the "EULA" question goes. This tool does not delete or uninstall SecuROM™ protected applications. Please use the built in uninstall program or add/remove program function from Windows. If you have questions about uninstalling your application please contact the publisher. We recommend to first uninstall the SecuROM™ protected applications, before deleting SecuROM™ components with the SecuROM™ Removal Tool. This recommendation should avoid potential inconsistencies, as some application uninstallers might expect certain SecuROM™ components like DRM license information. However, the SecuROM™ Removal Tool can also be used independently from application uninstalls, and it will similarly remove SecuROM™ components. Some or all of those files and registry keys may be re-created in their respective locations upon each launch of a SecuROM™ protected application. If you have used SecuROM™ protected applications for multiple Windows users on your PC, it may be necessary to run this tool under each respective Windows user account. If an application bundled with SecuROM™ product activation contains a grace period (e.g. typical "trial versions" with a limited number of launches) some registry keys cannot be deleted. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/1086this is a very old topic and many posts have been made about this. Grizzly696
No, I don't want to do anything that could potentially get me in trouble with legal enforcers, or get me banned from the Nexus forums, especially when both copy's of Fallout 3 GOTY are physical legitimate retail games. DRM is there for a reason, however much I dislike it in some circumstances, I can understand the basis for it's existence. But I digress, I still believe this issue to be based around the UAC as Fallout 3 isn't 100% compatible nor supported for Windows 7.
