Ayda
Okay, I was playing Oblivion fine and happily until yesterday. I was playing around with some mods and the construction set, then I closed out of the construction set for whatever reason, and a few minutes later I tried to start it up and it wouldn't load. I double clicked it, and the loader came up but it doesn't go past that. So I'm like ... okay... and I restart my computer, still wont work. I decide to try and see if Oblivion is working and what do you know - no dice. So neither Oblivion nor construction set are working for me now. Oblivion gets to the Bethesda screen when loading, then it just sort of stops. My computer doesn't freeze, and I don't get any error messages, but it is still hard to get out of the screen, I have to ctrl alt delete to get out and it still takes a couple of minutes. This was a very sudden problem, taking place within a couple of minutes, so I was thinking it was a mod problem, but would a mod problem cause both the contstruction set AND Oblivion not to work? It doesn't make sense to me that the construction set wouldn't work, as nothing is loaded into it when it starts up. Anyway, I don't know what to do to resolve it. Anyone have any suggestions? :(
bben46
If you changed something in the CS that changed something in a mod, that could be the culprit. Disable the mod you were working on first. Then try disabling the last several mods you installed.
Ayda
I went as far as to disable all of my mods and still nothing. But thanks for trying to help me
Ayda
Well I seem to have resolved it. It was an issue with a couple of mods I was using in the TES construction set. I still don't know what I did wrong for all of that to happen. I reinstalled my game which was pain, as I had to back up vast amounts of mods and data info, which took forever! But it seems it was all in vain - as the problem was resolved with the deletion of a few mods from my data folder, but at least now I have some backups of the original data folder in case anything ever goes wrong. I just sort of went through each of the mods to see if the game would play or not with them, and I found a couple of them that caused the problem so I deleted them, and reinstalled them, and voila! Problem resolved
