Converting Modder Resources to Skyrim

Hi all. My name is Rich, also known as 1shoedpunk, and I've been working with Beyond Skyrim to convert modder resources (with permissions, either from the author or as stated in terms of use) for our project, but I've been getting a few messages from other modders with questions about converting assets. I've done my best to answer them, but it seems like there is a lot of interest in this, so I wanted to bring the conversation here.

I have experience converting statics, animated meshes, and trees into Skyrim friendly file structures/formats. I can retexture these with completely vanilla Skyrim assets or adapt the original textures to the new engine. For Morrowind assets without normal maps, I can create those and tweak it to look good in-game. I am still learning about armor and weapons, but I know the basics and can work it out relatively quickly if needed.

If there are any mod authors out there who have released assets for previous games and want to get them out there for Skyrim and are not quite sure about the new format, let me know. I want to share what I know and hopefully learn a bit more. Also, I'd be more than willing to help you convert your assets and get them out there for Skyrim, assuming they are all original meshes and including meshes from other games. Textures can always be replaced if vanilla ones were used originally, though.
