Site design update, file backgrounds and hot file cropping

Looks great! I like the new changes. Also to toss out a feature request, but could we have a way to stop tracking files by clicking the sexy new green/orange button? My tracking list could use a bit of a clean up.

hello!

 

i made a list of Requested/Recommended changes for the nexus site, a list where newcomers can easily cope up with how the layout works. it's better to prioritize newcomers.

 

Requests:

1: change ENDORSE to LIKE

2: change ENDORSEMENTS to LIKES

3: separate the ENDORSE/LIKE button from other buttons

4: place the ENDORSE/LIKE button somewhere noticeable

5: change UNIQUE DLs to MANUAL DLs

6: let mod authors see how many votes are given to his/her mod

7: a more noticeable SEARCH button

8: GIVE KUDOS button on profile pages

 

the first four on the list will be the most useful, both for Newcomers and Mod Authors. :D

I am not fond of LIKE expression makes me feel like I am on some teenager social site, which this site isn't (or at least it wasn't as I remember, but correct me if I am wrong).

Second that Loshi!I appreciate the changes thus far and the work involved. One thing I'd like to see is a Big Blue NEWS button. @Timmy19992 & valcwhy do mod authors write this?"please endorse if you LIKE it"since you won't endorse something you don't even like,it's a lot simplier if you just change ENDORSE into LIKE. most people get confused with the word endorse,especially the newcomers:D Edited March 9, 2013 by Loshirai14

You do know that number 5 would require a new form of tracking.Unique Downloads is not the same as Manual Downloads.Unique downloads means the amount of different 'logged in profiles' or 'unique IP adresses' that have downloaded your mod.It's one of the two.Also a new player that downloads your mod via NMM also increases your Unique Downloads by one. Well, it's not a big deal for me. But LIKE and ENDORSE have different meanings. ENDORSE more closely means RECOMMEND in this context. So, I may say that I LIKE blueberry pie, but I am not RECOMMENDING it to you, just stating my preference for it. I LIKE a lot of mods and use quite a few, but I ENDORSE very few.

Just semantics really, not a major issue for me either way. :)

@valcit's true that they have different meanings..but we're on nexus, ENDORSE and LIKE means the same here... unless they place another button for LIKE without removing ENDORSE >_< Edited March 9, 2013 by Loshirai14
