Xaphys
The topic says it all already (:wallbash:). I am totally new to Oblivion mods but thought that it would be nice to start with them. Well, I have zero experience with it which is quite a problem. I've already spent hours searching via google or trying to get it work somehow myself. However, it is just way too complicated for me at the moment. For the record, I do realize that there are several FAQs and guides how to get FCOM to run, there is the FCOM Cheat Sheet etc. However, as I said I am totally new and simply don't understand those guides. They tell me to "install XXX" but it is not explained how I can install it and where I have to install it to. Keep in mind that I'm a total newb and pretty much fail with computers. Here is what I have done/what I have so far (all just downloaded, not extracted or anything): 1 ) unmodded, unchanged Oblivion with 1.2 patch+SI 2 ) WarCry [as 7z/zip] 3 ) Bob's armory [as 7z/zip] 4 ) OOO+1.34 patch for OOO [both as 7z/zip] 5 ) MMM 3.5.5 [as omod] +3.5.5 beta5 [as 7z/zip] + MMM 3.6 beta 3 [as 7z/zip] 6 ) Fran's mod and the needed additional upgrade [as 7z/zip] 7 ) Wrye Bash installed in the main oblivion folder 8 ) OBMM in the main oblivion folder 9 ) FCOM convergence stuff [as 7z/zip] I'd be extremely happy if anyone could help me out with this. Please tell me where I have to install all those files to, out of which I have to make an omod, where to put which folders and which files and so on. A step by step guide would be appreciated very much, as in: 1. Extract XXX there and there, extract the patch YYY into the same folder. 2. open up OBMM, search for the folder where you put it, press "create omod". 3. extract ZZZ to .... and so on. Just a very detailed, understandable, step-by step guide which doesn't just say "install it" but which explains how to install and where to install it to etc. Thanks in advance. Please refer to this thread, maybe you will find useful information here regarding fcom :-) http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=92624 keep in mind if you are completely new to modding, as bben normally tells people, you should not start off with the biggest mods possible until you become familiar with other smaller mods, how to install them, how to trouble shoot issues if they arent working right... how to properly set up a load order for mods so they all run smoothly together... it's all been explained in the above mentioned forum post :-)
bben46
You picked one of the most difficult mods to get installed and get to work there is. I recommend you back off a little. Start a little smaller. What you learn installing the smaller mods will help you with FCOM. Even experienced mod users have problems getting all of FCOM working right. FCOM is more than a total game overhaul, it is a combination of several complete game overhauls that each have their own problems for installing and getting to work. Because every system is different, there is no one right way to install FCOM. That is why some of the directions are so vague. You have to understand what you are doing first, and the best way to learn is to start small.
Xaphys
Okay, thanks everyone :) However, as I have downloaded and extracted all of the files already I will try my best to get it work anyway. Which way is safer/easier - turning everything into omods OR doing it as described in the cheat sheet and editing/altering the oblivion data folder etc? PS: I accidently installed MMM 3.6 beta 2 on top of 3.5.5 and 3.5.5 beta 5 (as an omod) instead of installing the more recent MMM 3.6 beta 3 - can I just install (via obmm as an omod) beta 3 on top of beta 2 or won't that work? If it isn't possible, can I delete beta 2 somehow? Just right click and press "delete" in OBMM? Or will that cause problems as beta 2 has already overwritten some files from the former MMM versions? Do I have to re-omod everything?

Xaphys
yeah but won't it cause problems as it has (probably) overwritten some of the former MMM stuff (e.g. 3.5.5 beta 5)? Or will the overwritten stuff be undone? Also, is it possible to install mmm 3.6 beta 3 on top of mmm 3.6 beta 2 without errors?

Xaphys
Ok, this is simply too hard to figure it out by yourself, no matter how many tutorials you read. Could someone PLEASE just give me a step-by-step guide on how to install FCOM via OBMM? Thus far I have the following (omod'ed and activated it in that order): 1) One omod consisting of OOO+OOO patch 1.34, no changes, nothing 2) One omod consisting of MMM 3.5.5, I chose some optional add-on stuff but did not change anything else 3) One omod consisting of MMM 3.5.5 Beta 5, nothing else done with it 4) One omod consisting of MMM 3.6 Beta 3, nothing else done with it 5) One omod consisting of Fran's main package (d/l link: http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.ph...s&lid=3855)HOWEVER I do not know how to create an omod out of Fran's add-on part (which is necessary for FCOM) as it consists of a .BSA file which cannot be found by OBMM (I tried to press "add folder" but the BSA folder was not found). So what can I do? I also tried adding it manually via bethesda\oblivion\obmm\mods but it didnt show up in OBMM afterwards. What do I do with the BSA file from Fran? Where do I go after having omod'ed all of MMM and OOO? Any help would be very much appareciated!

I could give you a step by step guide, but I myself have only just now downloaded all the ingredients to start setting up my emmersian experience. I have not begun any installation and i will be using the same forum post i just sent you to in the above replies to install mine. If you notice there is a very helpful link in that forum post that takes you to a step by step guide on everything you need to get fcom up and running, I will beusing that also myself :-) If when i am finished you still need help I will be glad to share my experience about it with you . for now see this site http://devnull.devakm.googlepages.com/convergencecopy and paste the link and I hope it helps you , and I hope it helps me also lol
Xaphys
that guide you posted the link too is way too complicated for me, I simply don't understand it. It is very detailed and indepth about many details but it does not explain the basic steps and expects you to know how to do them. However, I don't. Again, what I want to do is create omods out of all the damn different files/mods/patches in order to install them. It seems that is different from what the guide tells me. Furthermore, the guide just says "install xxx". However, I don't know how... I would very much appreciate it if anyone who has experience with omods, FCOM and installing it to help me via msn as it is too complicated on the forum. Here is my current problem again: (copy pasted from above): 1) One omod consisting of OOO+OOO patch 1.34, no changes, nothing 2) One omod consisting of MMM 3.5.5, I chose some optional add-on stuff but did not change anything else 3) One omod consisting of MMM 3.5.5 Beta 5, nothing else done with it 4) One omod consisting of MMM 3.6 Beta 3, nothing else done with it 5) One omod consisting of Fran's main package (d/l link: http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.ph...s&lid=3855) HOWEVER I do not know how to create an omod out of Fran's add-on part (which is necessary for FCOM) as it consists of a .BSA file which cannot be found by OBMM (I tried to press "add folder" but the BSA folder was not found).
