noseble3d
I was making textures and i noticed those N.DSS files are using the looks of the files i remade but are glowish and shiney and i want to know how make those for my textures. Idk what its called or id look around but i dont know so i started a thread. I was remodeling an armor and i already got the basic file: filename.DDS but i want to finish and get the filename_n.dds. Can anyone enlighten me?
deliverance6
go to "FIlters" and then "NVIDIA" in photoshop. theres a normal map filter option. create it as desired. and then just export it as a *_n.dds file

R4byde
You seem to be doin' alright but I thought I'd drop this link here anyway. Normal Mapping With GIMP It's for GIMP but the steps aren't much different in Photoshop. Something to keep in mind while making normal maps is that they'll be shinier the more opaque they are, so for cloth or dull metals you will need to erase the normal map at about fifty percent opacity.
