Norway protests child abuse in Iraq

 

Norwegian authorities reacted with shock and disgust Tuesday to a documentary on German TV that American soldiers allegedly have been holding children in prisons in Iraq, and abusing them as well. The Norwegians joined the Red Cross and Amnesty International in calling for an immediate end to the abuse, and release of the underage prisoners, some of whom are as young as 12 years.

 

I've never read aftenposten, so do not know its reputation.

but had to rely on a somewhat confusing Google translation.

 

Does anyone from Germany or Norway have any more information?

I'm not German or Norwegian... but I am 1/4th Norwegian, 3/4ths Icelandic, that do? ;)

 

I can confirm the story though, though I don't know about the abuse itself. I can also confirm that Aftenposten is a reliable newspaper, so long as it isn't regarding anything religious... zealotic nuts my cousins the norwegians, wouldn't even show Life of Brian in cinema without a big poster outside saying "This film is NOT about Jesus."...

Hey man... kids can carry bombs too. When you're rollin' into a hostile country you may as well make sure that you get anything that moves becasue it's probably a threat. Besides, these kids may grow up to be terrorists, it's a preemptive move on our part to make sure that these kids are locked up and abused because they could some day turn against us. America is all about preemtive measures...
