Fluent combat. Overhaul the hit and block system.

I don't know if you guys feel the same way, but i always had the feeling that melee combat in Skyrim looked fake.

The problem for me is that when you hit someone that blocks your attack you perform the exact same animation after being blocked again looking like Luke from Star Wars bashing in on Darth Vader in episode VI.

 

My idea is that you actually continue with the animation while still being blocked. For example you first hit with a right swing and instead of using another right swing you continue to attack with a left swing and so on. As for the block animation it would be really awesome if there was some sort of script that let's you block the weapon on the location of impact. For example you block a left swing you hold your sword straight up and a bit to the left, you block a vertical and you hold your sword horizontal and a bit up and so on.

 

I have no idea if this is actually possible and within the limits of the CK and animation software, but that's why i made a post about it. I am just curious as this would make combat alot more glamorous like the big swordfights you see in the movies where your coordination of the sword, shield, mace or whatever weapon you have actually matters a bit
