[LE] How to change what happens when an enemy dies?

I have been modifying enemies for a mod but I stumbled into a problem. Since I want some enemies to look different than they usually do, I've replaced the mesh, skeleton and textures of a frost atronach. My problem is that when it dies it does the same thing as an atronach- splits into parts which stretches the new mesh and textures, and makes a mess. How do I change that so it just collapses like a draugr, without additional flare?

When an npc dies the 'Havok Engines' takes charge of how the npc's body will act always corresponding to its mesh and skeleton settings, so if a skeleton is made to break apart on death then the only thing you can do is to replace the skeleton your npc uses, or creat your own skeleton version.

There is if i remember correctly a box that you can tick in the actor's race that it will disable this, but in doing so the actor upon dying it will just 'Freeze' in place and not fall to the ground.

Sorry but i don't remember right now the checkbox name and i'm nowhere near my pc.

Have a nice weekend.

Thank you! That is helpful. Problem is I don't have much editing experience with editing with Nifscope so I can prevent the skeleton.nif from breaking upon death. I'll look around the settings, see if I find anything. If you remember the checkbox name, do tell.

You cannot do this in NifSkope, you need a professional 3d program like 3d studio max, and is a quite complicated process to write it down on a post, and especially from my stupid tablet that i can't see sh** !.

You can see that all the vanilla game's actors that "Break Apart" when they die, their bodies are all made in 'PARTS' and they are not a one unify mesh so that when the 'Havok Engine' executes it won't cause a "Mesh Chaos".

The best thing to do is to not edit the skeleton, but from the beginning make your model to be compatible with the havok engine behavior.
