Tempest329
I just recently got this for the PC basically for the mods and I have no idea why they aren't working. I downloaded Rens Beauty pack and other mods but, I can't even get this one to work. I go in and start a new game and all the mods are there but when I click on one of them like the hair it's says it's there but then the hair doesn't change or when I click for the new race the character just disappears. I just installed the newest patch for shivering isle, I put all the mesh files in the right folder and the textures and I turned the mods on and I still don't know what the heck is wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'll come back if I still can't figure it out. xD How is your progress in getting the mods to work for you?I just tried to work on it again and everything is where it's supposed to be I think. Textures are in the texture folder, Meshes are in the mesh folder, and the mods are working but, when I go to change the hair or put downloaded clothing on it makes my character disappear or the hair won't change at all. The mod is there and it's there in the game and the clothing is in the game but, when I equip it the character becomes invisible. Help please. :wallbash:
thebigba
most often when items like hair... eyes... clothes malfunction or disappear or look odd etc...it is due to a problem with the textures you are using, the load order of the mods... missing textures... replacing textures of the same name with other textures... that sort of thing so 1. look at your load order makesure the mod you want to run well with is loaded after the others if it loads them last then nothing is getting overrided. 2. you said you installed rens beauty pack, there are 2 parts to ren's beauty pack a) rens beauty pack full B) rens beauty pack hairs only you should use both of them... many people have the same problem missing hairs or whatever because the did't install the hair pack. 3. what clothing mod are you using? edit: Just a note, not saying that you have not done this but..normal oblivion install if your main HD is C: like most would go to c:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion inside the oblivion folder is a DATA folder any .esp, .esm , tesctures Folders, meshes Folders, Sound Folders go in this data folder if for somereason you dont have folders that come with the mod you installed, which is rare, and you only have some .nif files or .dds or .mp3 then they need to go inside thier folders .nif goes into the meshes folder.dds goes into the textures folder.mp3 goes into the sound just for reference , you may have already known this but :-)
Tempest329
The clothing mod I'm using is Tona's simple dress armor and I have the other mod necessary for it to work and that mod works fine. Just so I'm not making any mistakes, this is what the data folder should look like, right? Also, where does .egm and .tri file go?
thebigba
well yeah :-) if that's in the correct place where you installed to and everything is running right then it would have to be some problem with the textures... did you get rens hair and beauty pack two separate downloads? I'll look into the clothes thing. can you show me you load order in obmm .tri and .egm go in the Meshes folder , they are facegen files
