ruvuk
I'm new. I thought (guessed) that the Nexus Forums were part of the Skyrim Nexus, but signing into one of them doesn't get me into the other. Are the 2 not related? Also, I've got a bunch of easy questions that I'd sure like to get answered . . . I think my questions are too trival for these forums, and they're not right for tech support. Is there an online manual or guide for Skyrim? As an example . . . the Custom quest marker on my map . . . I can't find any way to get rid of it when I'm not using it. Findiing the answer would be something I'd just look up in the instructions for most things. Just point me in the right direction, and it'll be a big help. Thanks. bben46
The same password should work, in fact once you sign in on one you should be able to go right to the other one no matter which you logged in on. Do you have cookies disabled? Go ahead and ask your questions on the forum - or do a search on the forum to see if they have already been asked. blitzen
Custom quest marker? You mean the symbol that guides you to the location on the map for the next step in a quest? You have to go into the journal and deselect that quest and/or quest step to remove the marker.
GTarrant
If you mean the 1 green marker you can set yourself, just click the map somewhere. you'll get a messagebox asking if you want to place/remove/do-nothing your marker.
ruvuk
Thanks for the replies; I *really* appreciate it when you guys take the time to stop and help me with something. @bben: Yes, I use the same name and password for both sites, but, no, signing into one of the two sites does not get me into the other. I routinely have to sign in twice. (And you know I don't love that. <lol>) Cookies are not disabled for online sessions (but cookies and and all of the other tracking markers get scrubbed when I close my browser). I'd certainly like to know how to avoid the sign in-twice drill, but this is a small issue compared to some of my problems figuring out the mods, etc., so no worries if there's not an easy, obvious answer here. AND . . . regarding your sig: "When all else fails - Read the directions. (RTFM)" . . . I'd *love* to RTFM, but when was the last time anything came with a FM? Where, for example, is the manual for Skyrim?? Well, there's that .pdf file from Bethesda (that takes longer to download than it takes to read) . . . the .pdf manual has all of 12 pages, most of which is graphics--it's more like one of the Quick Installation Guides (you know, the single-page sheet you unfold, done poster-size so you can toss it on the floor and still see it while you're unpacking the new equipment). . . . I think Bethesda and the other companies have pretty much dumped the whole support dept. into the laps of the online forums. @reindeer and GT: I was talking about the green-colored custom markers, and clicking on the map to get that dialog box was easy-as-pie. <lol> I'd always tried *not* to touch the darn map just because I'd often wind up with a green marker someplace where it just got in the way. Thank you v. much for the fix.
