Arukata Posted March 16, 2013 Share Posted March 16, 2013 the good thing is, you can also convert videos and audio files into many various formats with VLC. other expensive audio/video programs no longer needed!I very much doubt it yields a quality product. Barring that it's only remuxing into a new container, and not directly altering the stream data itself. I can't see anyone involve in coordinating additions and developments bloating the distribution with the latter. I'm not saying there isn't better open source software out there to convert stream data. But whether it be another app, or paid software, VLC is likely an inferior choice.
