Mod Request: Increase Difficulty

Started a replay on very hard with melee/quickhack dude and game basically pose no challenge at all.

 

First thing i´d remove is the free stealth kill. No matter what level, what skills, you can always sneak around and just kill everybody, no cost. I don´t understand why this is not something that is based on the skills you choose.

 

With hacking, it becomes even more easy. Just ping, take camera control, sneak, assassinate. And if you get caught, slash slash slash, they´re dead.

 

"Very hard"? Woot?

difficulty mod should ideally include:

 

-rescaling (weapon damage, armor, hp, perk bonuses)

-enemy scaling to player level that you never out-level them

-enemy ai aggro and awareness and tactics (more pressure on the player)

-enemy aggro range and pursuit mechanisms

-enemy attack speed as well as dodge speed

-enemy weapon and item scripts and abilities like giving each enemy more healing items, grenades, giving them better weapons, including tech weapons (not all but some enemies should have stuff like tech rifles and those explosive arm implants, cyberware etc available to the Player as well as sometimes advanced tech weapons and counter-hacks)

-reinforcements in some specific situations

 

All in all it would be quite a bit of work.

Already stopped playing the game due to how easy it got... I wonder if a hardcore mod is possible without a modding tool for cyberpunk

 

I too stopped playing because of how easy the games is on the hardest setting.

 

Patiently waiting for mods or developer updates to address that issue.

I think a difficulty mod would be possible without modding tools, but it would be a monumental nightmare likely unprecedented in modding.

 

Long War was built in large part through hex editing after all, but that took a skilled team years and the scale of that game is a fraction of Cyberpunk. It's framework was more sound too.

 

Without mod tools anything more than a bare bones adjustment of some mostly global values is unlikely.

 

Given the troubled reception and recent rod map modding tools are likely a long way off.

 

I commend and condemn the devs for attempting to fix the game themselves instead of going for the standardized Bethesda RPG method of releasing a somewhat functional, mostly mediocre framework with great tool support. The later has become a proven method for games of this scope for a reason.

I think that the game itself needs to have some finer difficulty controls that include enemy level scaling. I get really bummed when I see that grey "Low threat" on every gig and side job halfway thru my game. If you specialize your build in the slightest you can walk over all enemies(Including bosses) like a demigod of death.

well i agree on this but if the tweak of enemy is too hard for now

at least more enemy spawn or enemy can have reinforcement to join them

 

or just the gang can replace a police in game you fight with the gang they will spawn nearby until you leave area or something
