DylanHollis
Okay folks, I'd really appreciate your help on this one. - So I'm finishing up this quest mod of mine, yet the problem of Face/Body color mismatch still plagues me. unless I manually alter the Fallout.ini bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles to equal 1 again. (The mismatch where the head is always pale, yet the lower body retains correct color) My question is: What happens when I release my mod? - Will my downloaders still have the same problem unless they themselves alter the Fallout.ini? Is there anyway that I as the mod author and file provider force this problem to not happen? My mod is a .esm file converted through FNV edit, is there any flags I can check there to assure people don't all look like they sneezed into a bag of powdered sugar? I know there is a Fallout.ini in the steam saves game, located within your documents folder? - and once in a blue moon that won't let me edit it.Is there a Fallout.ini anywhere else? - I've heard that there are two, and they are treated differently depending on how you launch the game. I guess I just want to make sure my downloaders don't have this problem. Without just telling them to change it. Super-Duper thanks to anyone who may lend a hand and save me.Please!:)
None1980
Yes, they will experience this issue, as well, and need to fix it manually themselves via their ini files. Lots and lots of other mods have this issue, including heavily endorsed and popular mods, such as MMUE and NVR2. They handle it by simply adding instructions on how to change your ini files and adding it to the installation sections of their ReadMe files. In fact, you could probably copy and paste that section of their instructions into your own, I don't think they would mind considering how simple it is. And yes, there are three ini files for both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Fallout.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini should be in your Documents/MyGames (or at least, that's where I have mine) folder, the third ini Fallout_default.ini is in the game's main folder (for example, C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout New Vegas, or something like that, but it depends on where you installed the game). Hope that helps! Maybe someone else has some more info for you, but that's it as far as I know. Edited March 12, 2013 by None1980
DylanHollis
@ None1980! - Thanks man, Not really what I was hoping for, but if that's the way to get around it then that's how it shall be! It's just that there are people who will not follow instructions and have a less-than-intended experience. Then again that's their choice! Thanks Very Much!
