Back behind the keyboard and loving it!

Yes, it is true, I have been drinking milk in the glow of a television with a controller in my hand. It was a lot of fun, whoring for trophies and achievements. Starting a game on a generation seven console, switching to an eighth gen for a walk to the store, then back to seventh again, this time with the glasses powered on.

...but then, something happened that changed everything...

Sure this thing has happened in much the same way--time and time again--since the days of the Sega-Mega. Since this topic is in the Noob thread I guess I should clarify. Sega-mega was that space technology attached to your annoying neighbor's Sega-Genesis. Point is, from the first optical media, from the days before the term PC, through the Windows, all the way to Saturn and beyond...

....a Newbre, nay.. a pro be I, true OG. Original gamer. I excel at playing a game from it's disc. Literally, gaming so hard the optical media gets severe laser burns, rendering discs unreadable. Ok fine! I scratch the poor things to death, but put to death, these games I have! ...scratching is as scratching does...

...and then...

...it happened again. My Skyrim disc for PS3 was attacked by cave bears and took a killing head-scratch (BOOM!). Only fifteen hundred ( 1,500 ) hours in and nothing really done in Skyrim but some butterflying. Maybe pick(axe)d a few hundred ore veins, or (hand)picked a few thousand thistles, or used illegal locksmithing tools on a lock or two, sure, but certainly never ran 'round nude or picked sides in the war. One teeny tiny scratch and suddenly the Ministry of Truth floats away with Umbriel, brokefoot does a mash-up that nobody likes, the Red Mountain erupts with firery dragons, spewing dwemer across Middle-Earth, playstation dlc fails to release on time, then ever, and other outlandishly Sheogorath-ingly loreless dovah-scratch distortions...

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Why Azura, why? Still so much to see and see again and do before DLC releases... rrrrrrr (record scratch) rrrrrr. What The Non-humble Cudgel! DLC is not gonna make it to PS3???? Eff you - Todd Hines and Pete Howard (brokefoot mash-up stylee).

Oh well. Now my games are unscratchable thanks to my high barter skill, err, speechcraft. Or, thanks to moon sugar filled devinesday-stockings at Bethesda and a certain online marketplace. For less than large coin purse (plus or minus a few 'In Akatosh We Trust's) I doubled or tripled up on Rage, both FOs, and all Quakes and Dooms. Plus got my first Dishonored. And finally, TES III-V... No discs to scratch or lose and DLC coming to the Fatherland.

For a return to Solstheim at one oblivion of a sugar-smoking deal, thanks to Valve and Steam; and a huge THANK YOU! to Bethesda and the rest of the Zeni-Max family, including Sir Pete Hines and Sir Todd Howard (whose souls I keep safely trapped within black soul gems, in a jar.)

Why do you ask? What, you don't see those faces in the mountains? What about the stalactite to stalagmite ancient giants chipped free from the lakeside cave walls in Blackreach? Do you see those? Okay, I might be trippin. I need some Argonian ale to lube my eyes. They have been stuff on magic energy cube since 11:11... No wait, it's not quite ten yet. s#*!, 'nuther 'round kitties.
