saintgrimm92
I find it a little strange that a game about the Nordic home Skyrim has so few mods related to the real Nordic people. Theres many suggestions I have to give in this post. I have attempted to make a few of them, but have so far failed horribly, modding just isn't my thing I guess. One of the main things I've tried myself to make and have searched almost weekly on the nexus is an armor similar to Odin's armor. Of course, many different sources make his armor many different ways. I'll post here first, a picture of the armor I personally tried to make. http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/12/123967/2391281-1731262-odin.jpgThe main piece here that I absolutely love, and also seems to be the hardest to create, is the winged helmet. Maybe I just suck at helmets more than body armor, I dont know. I wouldn't actually want the "fluffy" wings as depicted here, more like what we see in common armor replicas where the wings are made of metal, like in this depiction of the great Talos http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X5OQ28mcCLI/UNeVYs2RzBI/AAAAAAABEus/rmV7NL4KWo8/s1600/talos.jpgI also find this armor neat, as well as the spear. I've seen many spears and actually use a few mods that add spears to the game, but they are all 2handed spears, I would love to see a spear like this, but 1handed. As for the animation, the mods I have all use a spear like a 2h axe or warhammer. I dont even know if its possible, but I would like to see a stabbing motion for the attack animation with a spear. This helm is also very neat, but isn't exactly historically correct for a norse themed armor. http://www.gothambynight.com/scion/Odin.jpg I would also like to see some more nordic things like possibly a valkyrie follower, made with the UNPBBP body. Though it wouldn't be historically correct either, it would be nice for her to have more of a beauty look than a warrior look about her. Also with custom armor. http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/290/9/d/Valkyrie_by_GENZOMAN.jpg As for wings, I would prefer they were a piece of armor or jewelry so they could be equipped and unequipped. Now, for beards. I love beards. I am currently growing my own beard out long enough to braid. I would like to see a beard mod that adds beards like this possibly more than any mod I've requested thus far.</p> http://padawanjenn.tripod.com/LotR/twotowers/gimli01_lrg.jpg As important as a nords beard is, I would think not only there would be more braided/long beards added with mods, but that even bethesda would have added a greater number of special beards for the nord race. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lrpcw02E5x1qm3uo6o1_500.jpgThe musician Zakk Wylde has had many different styles in his facial hair and I would love to see a few of them in a beard mod for skyrim. http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Zakk+Wylde+Sirius+XM+Annual+Celebrity+Fantasy+B5B68cu2ikll.jpghttp://www.htbackdrops.com/v2/albums/userpics/10016/Zakk_Wylde_1.jpg Beards similar to the very famous ZZ Top beards would also be highly appreciated in a beard mod. http://noshave32.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/zztop.jpg Of course this is all a lot to request. And even though I know nothing of modding, if anyone would know how I could go about making beards but are just to busy to put in the time it would require and would be willing to give me a detailed tutorial to follow, I would have course credit that person in the mod! I just really find the vanilla beards to be to short and "un-nordic-like". A Nord without a proper Nord beard is like an axe with a dull blade, it just doesn't cut right. As for other weapons such as norse battleaxes, war axes and swords, I have found a few mods that add plenty of these items to the game, as well as mods that add historically correct viking chainmail armor, helmets and shields. But personally, historically correct isn't always as fun. I would just like to see more viking/barbaric style armors that are depicted from fairy-tales, as well as beards! BEARDS! BEARDS!
