Crawl90
Hello!I've previously been pretty active on this site, modding Oblivion for years. However, when Skyrim released I didn't play it much. I just recently decided to pick Skyrim up again, knowing that the modding community had made a fantastic job yet again. I've basicly copied a mod list from a friend, adding a few on my own and also ignoring a few of his. I've been troubleshooting different problems for probably 10-15 hours before creating this thread (I solved a lot of them) but I cannot seem to figure out what's wrong here. http://i.imgur.com/fiRezUB.png This is my list of mods including my load order. I've tried disabling them one by one but nothing seems to fix the issue. I've also tried to update my graphic cards drivers with no success. As shown in the picture above I am using the "Alternate Start" mod, which lets me spawn in a shipwreck. That's where I am in this picture below, the problem is that when moving, my screen (or the water specifically) keeps "flickering" back and forth like this: http://i.imgur.com/toYkKnS.jpg It also makes a very wierd sound, this is happening constantly when moving, if standing still it works just fine. So yeah, basicly this is the problem I'm having and I could really need some help of how to fix this. What's also interesting to mention is that I have a very decent computer, specifically: Intel i7 3770k 3,5 ghzgeforce gtx 67016 gb ramrunning on a 240 gb ssd I run the game at around 200-250 fps, at least when I took these print screens. When I tried to record the problem with fraps my framerate lowered to 80-100~ and the problem was basicly gone, its like my fps is too high for the zone. It just makes no sense. I would really appreciate any help with how to solve this. Thank you very much! EDIT: ReProccerNONPLAYERfix.esp and ReProccer.esp are actually at the bottom, the only reason they are up there is because I tried troubleshooting the mods below, and didnt fix the load order/run ReProccer after that! EDIT2: I just noticed that creatures are extremely buggy aswell, they are lagging around like crazy. Edited March 14, 2013 by Crawl90
Crawl90
Just wanted to inform everyone here that the issue had nothing to do with my mods. It was my high FPS that caused the problem, downloading fps limiter and setting it to 85 max fixed everything. Can't believe I spent sooooo many hours trying to troubleshoot this and the problem was lying in the game, not the mods.
Shubal
When you consider that theater movies are shown at 24 FPS and are quite acceptable, high rates over 100 are ....well.....pretty useless. I've capped mine at 40. It still fluctuates but the parameters are narrower and you don't get the jump from 8 to 90 FPS that can cause problems. You can't possibly compare a theater movie to a game when it comes to the amount of frames per second. Playing at 24 frames per second is next to unplayable in any game, however a game like skyrim would probably do well with 40 fps. Still, there is no reason at all for me to cap the game to 40 fps, and why would my fps jump from 8 to 90? Anyway, it makes no sense why skyrim wouldn't support more than 100 fps, I mean, even if I had Vsync turned on I would still have this issue with a 120 hz monitor. So basically Bethesda is forcing you to download user made mods to even be able to play the game.
