Future of Mankind

In not so far future from now, people from Earth are confronted with big problem. The year is 2072. Oil is drained out from under the ground. World War III was started because of oil. New allies have built new weapon, but something went wrong when they were launching it. Radiation levels all around the world are very high, so almost all plants have died. It is difficult to breathe, nobody has seen the Sun for more than fifteen years.

 

Three super-forces have barely to outlive those difficulties, Reunited States of America, European Federation and Soviet Union. Almost half of Earth's population has died. All three forces started to work together. First, they built huge telescope in orbit of Earth. They built military base inside mountain, somewhere in Rockies (what has left of them). In that base, they started analysing deep space radar telemetry – they were looking for new home for mankind. New planet had to be similar size, average temperature of 19 degrees C, and lots of forests. Meanwhile, European Federation started to work on propulsion technology, so they could travel by space faster than light. First they built crewless flyers for tests, and later, Lieutenant Paris tested it. When he was flying near mars, he lost control over the flyer and crashed. Fortunately, an alien ship was passing by, and noticed their hyperspace trail, so they rescued Lt. Paris. When they returned to Earth, other people were not very happy, because, in first, aliens wouldn’t help to clean Earth’s atmosphere. Few weeks later, one of aliens, named S’hare fell in love with Lt. Paris. She decided to help, no mater what consequences she had on her home world. From her ship, she smuggled some plants named Shol’va, which, if they have enough heat and light, huge amounts of oxygen. But, there was a problem…

 

On earth, there was not much place where solar flares could penetrate trough carbon-dioxide and other gases. When S’hare’s ship had to return onto their home world, she decided to stay. When they left, she joined to Science Academy, where were scientists from all around the world. They managed to build machine which will generate some kinds of shields, so they can isolate whole towns and separate their atmosphere.

 

After shields, they built phase guns. They were drilling atmosphere and isolating “clouds” of carbon-dioxide. About two years after plants have brought to Earth, they started to produce oxygen from carbon-dioxide. Old people noticed the change earlier than others.

 

Half a dozen years later atmosphere was rebuilding. Society started to grow. Three super-forces united in New United Nations. Together, they resumed to research hyperspace propulsion technology, and expedition to Mars discovered new alloy, which they called Trillium. World leaders decided to build space - science station in orbit of Earth. That station was built of Trillium – it is lighter than aluminium, but it is harder to break than Titanium. On that station they were experimenting with antimatter and mater reactions. With those experiments, they built device which could give energy to the whole Earth for more than fifty years.

 

In year 2086, one expedition on northern hemisphere discovered some kind of storage, which was lost for almost century, there was thought it was just a legend. In that storage, there were frozen seeds from almost all plants on Earth in year 2001.

Few months later, on remains of South America, they planted big forest – replica of rain forest. Because nobody has ever seen rain forest, they had to make replica from images and texts in books.

 

In time that came, atmosphere was from day to day “stronger”, and friendlier for life, so area that we called Sahara desert was no longer desert. The whole continent was transformed into big fields.

 

With new technology, which was advancing from day to day, people invented ships which could harvest crops from the air, and at the same time make eatable food from crops. The hunger was unknown term for all inhabitants of Earth. Money was no longer necessary.

 

By the end of the century, other species noticed Earth and its big development in technology. They treated people as a threat, and attacked Earth. Orbital station was first on strike, and later, headquarters of NUN (New United Nations). Humans were not ready, and they suffered. Now, they were on their own.

 

They managed to hardly damage alien spaceship, and they fell back. For next encounter, mankind will be ready. They already started to build spaceships, rebuilt NUN headquarters, and formed Space Academy…

 

Soon, people started to colonise other planets or moons in solar system. They started to make allies with other species, and started to share their technology and experiences in preserving nature and they helped other people with big pollution, and especially with people which were dieing.

 

In late 22nd century, human race was well-known as race which “lives with nature”, and they had very strong laws when there was a word about pollution, damaging or destroying something that nature created…

 

 

 

 

 

Note: this text was for some competition in school (reward was LOTR collection (books), i forgot to put my name, and i missed LOTR). Star Trek and Stargate fans will recognize some parts (names, technology) - i was writing this text "last minute", and i was tooooo lazy to make names...
