Reguard embassy? Didn't the empire abandon Hammerfell the land of the Redguards, when Hammerfell refused to accept the White-Gold Concordat?
I doubt Hammerfell would still maintain connections with the empire after this perceived betrayal.

Don´t worry. The USA are for sure is not a big friend of Iran or Northern Corea, but they still allow them to have ambessies in the USA. Thats the purpuse of an embassy .. let them have an embassy so the have to allow us embassies on their territory .. so we can spy them day and nigth. Thats part of the big game called diplomacy

Redguard Embassy isn't a bad idea. They're under represented in the game anyway, and some middle-easternish decor/clothing would be interesting to see against imperial/nordic background.

Besides that? Dunmer have no homeland, so they're pretty much out. Bosmer are part of the Dominion, so the Thalmor represent them. Half of the Khajiit are Dominion, the other half are being fought/repressed, I believe, so unlikely to have an embassy. Bretons could have one. I think it would just blend in to the scenery, though. Argonians maybe?

so the first one is imperial (of course ;p), so the second one is either orcs (in morrowind orc warriors and smiths had a really good reputaion in the imperial army!, bretons or redguards.

btw this is just for brainstorming purposes.
so let's get that stuff posted here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/942048-better-cities-syrim-edition/

btw: I am currently working on v.3. the hotel uses the same layout as the bard's college. it features a front desk, dining hall with 2 servants, a kitchen with a cook, a rich couple from ancil with their personal bodyguard (housecarl  ) and a tourist group (4 people) from all over cyrodil with their tour guide. all the npcs will get some basic ai routines, for example the tour guide will walk through the town with all the tourists following him. the couple will do some shopping etc.

v.3 will take some time thoug (mainly because of the npcs)

One thing that I really don't like about cities of TES game are the internal streets and location of buildings;
In a fortified city the distance between buildings it's short, in Witherun there are empty squares (streets \ sarcasm) everywhere, if you're planing to add more buildings then i suggest you to think about a defile streets with shops on both sides (for example, but still a lot of work), that will give immersion imho, becouse when I see all the Skyrim cities i see a bonch of villas with garden that compose the town, not distinct quarters that give a sense to the kind of their activity, maybe the gray quarter of Windhelm it's a good looking place, but it's empty at the vanilla stage, good work though =)

Example of what i mean.

after brainstorming with "Honorgilrl" we came to the conclusion that the secong embassy is going to be a breton one.

@darkgondul

i know what you mean. medieval cities were tight and building space was rare. but rest assured that (at least for the main place in solitude) i will try to get the area as dense as possible!

the main road to the blue palace whathoever is for the rich people so i don'T mind gardens and some for space there.

but i will definately use all the space i can get and then later it looks like a dense medieval urban area!

gotta get some breakfast and start working on the interior for the fany hotel.

I STILL NEED A NAME FOR IT!!

how do you think "Hall of Cyrodil" sounds?

worked a bit on the interior of the hotel. smaller guest rooms, kitchen, servants quarters arent finished yet, plus i want to add some more clutter.

the jewelry store comes next.

i think of releasing it as version 2.5 before i add any new npcs.

would you like that or should i only release it when i am fully done with interiors AND npcs?

btw i asked LP1, who updates http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22959 to integrate the solitude changes (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32204)

in my mod. it currently adds 2 houses, a cobbler, a baker and an instruments seller to the city and an inn on the road to solitude.

building placement in this mod is so good that i can easily expand upon it and the mod really fits my vision of building density and space usage you guys always wanted :)

indeed it is an amazing mod and i am glad that i could make it a requirement. also i got permission to merge the mods. sadly i do not know how to do it, so i put the esp and data folder in my complete archive.

nernie and LP1 gave me permission.

For the hotel name, is this going to be something of a high-class hotel? If so, some suggestions:

  • Red Dragon's Lodge
  • Aenjornghelvr Hall (I suggest this one, if your going for a Nordic feel)
  • The Noble Lord's
  • Graythernholme
  • The Professional Sexman's Club (not serious)

It is worth remembering that Bretons of High Rock are anything but united, so a "Breton" embassy might be rather strange. Currently there are five kingdoms, though I cannot name them besides Daggerfall and Wayrest (which aren't particularly close to Skyrim. Thus, I believe the embassy should be for one of these kingdoms. If it is of any worth, the closest High Rock city to Skyrim is Jehenna. Hell, you might even be able to do a Orsinium Embassy, with it being rebuilt between Skyrim and Hammerfell.

nope, riften is not being worked on. it is one of the better vanilla cities. but just post your ideas here

oh i did not know that bretons were not united. so either i do one of the breton kingom's embassys or an orsinium one.

i would like to have an orcish ambessy. the orcs from the city state orsinium would be a direct contrast to the clan based structures of skyrim's orcs.

also in v.4 i will add orcish smiths for the legion (as they have a really good reputation in the imperial army).

I think I might go for the name of "The Noble Lord's" for the fancy hotel. thank you
