Siegtorias
There's no time to stand on ceremony my friends, I need your help again. I'm trying to follow this Outfit Studio guide for turning an obj file into a nif. I'm at this part: 1. Right click on each of the imported objects and, from the pop-up menu, select Copy Bone Weights2. Wait until Outfit Studio finishes copying weights from the reference mesh to your mesh3. Right click on each of the imported objects and, from the pop-up menu, select Build Skin Partitions4. This will create the skin partitions for your mesh (you won't have to do that in NifSkope)5. Repeat these steps for each of the objects that form your armour. I have m nightingale boots_0 as a reference to copy the weights to a completely new boots mesh, but when I select Copy Bone Weights as it says, seemingly nothing happens. I also cannot find the option to build skin partitions. Can anyone help clear this up?
Hanaisse
I have no idea where you found those instructions but there is no automatic Build Skin Partitions in Outfit Studio, never has been. You need to go into the Partitions tab and create them yourself by selecting a biped slot and painting the parts you want included in that partition. For example, boots would have mostly 37_Feet and near the top on the leg would be 38_Calves. As for copying weights, did you set the nightingale boots as reference? Meaning, is it in green text? Then only select the other shapes to right-click > copy bone weights. You'll know if it works when another box opens up that allows you to adjust radius, just leave it at default values and click ok.
Siegtorias
That did it, kudos to you! I got them into the Creation Kit and placed into the world, a huge step forward from where I was at before. I added them as a duplicate with a new ID and mesh for male and female world models, but couldn't find the boots in the menu to replace "NightingaleBootsAA" with under the Models section. Any idea how to get them to show up there?
Siegtorias
Wait, I figured it out, just had to add it as well under armor addons. They look great, very pink but no clipping! Thank you so much!
