Remove Quest status from Iconics?

I don't know if it's possible yet, probably not, but is there a way to remove the Quest Item status from stuff like Johnny's set, Skippy, and Overwatch? I really would like to upgrade these, but apparently they can't be destroyed even by crafting, which results in multiple copies of the same item in the inventory. Not only that, but I would like to store them in my stash, but I cannot due to the aformentioned Quest Item status. I don't know why these items are flagged as such, and it's quite annoying to deal with. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I have the same issue have been trying to remove an item that I did not even know had become a quest item. I finished a quest line last night got a item that I wanted to upgrade made six till I found one that I wanted. Only after about three more hours of gameplay did I look to see that I still had the item left, but the game made the items I crafter into quest items even though said original item is not a quest item at all, it was just a reward at the end of the quest line. The only thing that I can think about is using console command to destroy copies of the item that have crafted, if you bought the game on GOG you can roll back the update to be able to use the console command to try to delete the items. Cheat engine might be able to work, but not being able to find an item value might be hard.
