Silent Raiders

Greetings from a long time reader first time poster.

I've recently been thinking about a mod to silence the raiders. To me, their 'sassy' comments in battle always kind of ruined the immersion of the game. They make it sound more like an angry school yard than a battle field.

I had the same problem in Morrowind as well, all those years ago. But this time, before I start a new FO3 playthrough, I've decided to do something about it.

Before I begin this undertaking my question is: is there a better (i.e. quicker, easier) way of doing this other than editing every one of the sound files? I really, really hope so.

Thanks for your time everyone,

Lewis

In the GECK you will see a Quest called GenericRaider. If you look at the the tab in that Quest that says Combat you will see all the possible comments that Raiders will use while in combat. I think in your case you are looking for the Attack group on the left. If you highlight and delete 1 or all Topics on the right then they won't say that line or lines while attacking.

On a side note. On the left where it says Assault, Attack, Avoid Threat, etc... This is what the Raiders will say during those particular times in the game. The tabs at top that say Combat, Detection and Service are use to control what the Raiders say during those situations.

Keep in mind that you can't just change the text to something different and have the Raiders actually change what they say because as you probably know the voice file is not changed.

This method is how most all NPC's in the game say generic dialogue during combat and such.
