ChalkLine
Hi! First post, and it's an "I want!" Typical! :) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone wanted to do some of the following renders, I apologise as they've no doubt been mentioned before; US camouflage patterns on Combat Armor and Power Armor, similar to the USMC Pacific Hbt Camo; http://image.ec21.com/image/rangercamp/oimg_GC01448126_CA01718858/Usmc_Pacific_Hbt_Camo_Suit.jpg I was thinking in a battered and chipped used-for-the-last-202.7 years style as well as a found-in-good-condition-at-the-National-Guard-Armory pristine render. Also, a basic power armour render in Olive Drab (OD) green would look cool. The reason I'm asking this is that most people tend to project current styles (note the K-Pot kevlar helm on the combat armour rather than the US M1 style variants you'd expect that'd be more in keeping with the theme of the game) and these would fit better with the 30s to 50s theme of the game in my humble opinion. Secondly, and I just know this must have been mentioned but I can't find it, a rusty and battered bobblehead collectors stand. The new, sparkly one just jars too much for me. r4y30n
Actually, I talked with a friend of mine about how cool it would be to have those camo patterns in game (among other period-correct additions), but I don't think anyone's mentioned it here. And olive drab power armor has been done, but not in high resolution and only for the T-45d. I would love to see high res T-45d's and T-51b's in olive drab with white stars and registry numbers on them (Bethesda's going a bit overboard in Op: Anchorage with colored flags and "USA" printed on the Arctic T-51b's  ). Or, you could throw the camo on part or all of the T-51, I think that could turn out really cool, too. On a related note, how about a 1950's era weapon pack? I'm thinking an M1919A6 (complete with .30-06 ammo) to replace the minigun, http://world.guns.ru/machine/m1919a6_1.jpg a Browning Auto-5 to replace the combat shotgun, http://www.armchairgunshow.com/images/sga-0668.jpg an M3A1 grease gun, hopefully with the flared flash hider and perforated heatshield, for an smg (but higher quality than the slapped together job that's been upped already), http://www.warez-server.net/ultrastats/web/images/weapons/MOD_M3A1_SUBMACHINEGUN.jpg a suppressed grease gun for stealthy players, http://www.precisionairsoft.com/usrimage/cat1002.jpg a properly scaled M1911A1 for a pistol, with an equippable silencer (also allowing ammo compatibility with the .45 ACP M3A1), http://www.5thrib.com/images/weapons/secondary/m1911.jpg an M14 for the assault rifle (why would American soldiers use G3s?), http://www.oknapc.org/USNA%20Parade%20Rifle/m14%20rifle.jpg a Chinese Type 63 rifle to replace the Chinese Assault rifle (I'm tired of seeing AKs in video games), http://www.defencetalk.com/pictures/data/4068/medium/Type63.jpg and perhaps a TT33 Tokarev for the Chinese Pistol (not quite accurate, but oh well, it's better than a Chinese Mauser!) http://world.guns.ru/handguns/tt33-pw.jpg PS: Sorry for jacking your thread! ChalkLine
and perhaps a TT33 Tokarev for the Chinese Pistol (not quite accurate, but oh well, it's better than a Chinese Mauser!) Although, the Mauser C96 in both the 10 shot top loader and the 20 to 30 shot base loader full automatic version was made in China from the 20's up until the 50s. PS: Sorry for jacking your thread! Threadjack? Nah! This is the sort of stuff I was thinking too.
furtim
Wasn't the Browning M2 machine gun already in wide use by the 50s? I'd think that would make a better minigun replacement, being a bit beefier.
r4y30n
The M2 has actually been in service since 1921, but the gun alone also weighs 84 lbs. The M1919A6 only took one man to carry as it only weighed about 33 lbs, comparable to many .50 caliber sniper rifles, and that weight included the bipod. r4y30n
Actually, given the title of this thread, we need some of this: http://bp3.blogger.com/_CJiMltRI5UQ/SDWXU6C5UJI/AAAAAAAAEWk/cGvH29eIRL0/s400/ig2.jpg Maybe as a replacement for Liberty Prime, though I'd like to see a bi-ped Mr. Gutsy with disintigrator laser eyes a la The Day the Earth Stood Still.
