enkephalin07
I just watched the 'Welcome to the Brotherhood' sequence between Li and Lyons, which they had to take player controls away to make you a captive audience to. And I thought, even if the voice acting weren't completely wretched, I can't tell if the animation was mo-capped rigor mortis or piss-poor animation talent. You know, puppet shows were an exciting novelty about 500 years ago, and more lifelike in-engine cinematics were composed 10 years ago. Wtf was that poo? Conscripted
Wasn't that one of the things that Valve taught us, that you can create a cinematic video game without ever taking player control away? I too felt annoyed at the few moments when they made you watch something, whether you wanted to or not.

enkephalin07
I should've named this thread 'worst acting in the game'. But at the top of that list goes to Lug's line: "Give me the Naughty Nightwear!" What? What is this cloak-and-dagger crap over a scrap of lace? That's supposed to be funny? Now whenever I play the quest, I cap the sorry male without a father before he can get the words out -- ("oh-please-don't-make-me-hear-that-dumass-line-BLAM!") At least with him I get the choice to pre-empt his action with hot lead. Though there's a few times I've missed what they were really trying to present, either partially or fully, that's a risk you take with player volition. At least you feel like an interactive participant, and the alternative, turning the player into a viewer and force-feeding, when it's bad you're all the more conscious of how bad it really is.
