Help with wall-eyed Dunmer

Delas in The Feedbag is wall-eyed. His eyes are pointing away from each other. I have eyelefthuman.nif and eyerighthuman.nif, plus four other files of the same name structure in the Imperial folder, .tri and .egm. But that doesn't fix it. Delas is not a custom race, but stock Dunmer.

 

Is there something I'm missing? This is what I get for previously having Beautiful People 2ch plus plus and deleting the .esp files.

Most eye problems are related to having too many 'beauty' type mods installed. Each one wants to control how the eyes look and you get something strange. black eyes, no eyes, googly eyes, strange color etc. Look for mods such as 'beautiful people' and any custom race mod. disable all of them and see if you get the vanilla eyes back. Then reinstall the mods one at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem.

Beautiful People was one of the early mods that changed eyes, and many of the later mods used a different technique causing a conflict resulting in strange eyes. Some race mods change the eyes while others do not.

Thank you, bben46! As it turns out, the mesh files were correct, but the textures they pointed to were not correctly textured for the mesh. What I did was unpack the default eye textures from the Oblivion Textures .bsa and write them over the ones in my folder. Fixed the problem.

 

Then, CM Partner Azazel had his eyes screwed up. So I looked at his eye textures and they were completely different from the other eye textures. So did so Photoshop editing and his eyes were fixed.

 

I think the main reason for these eye change systems was to have the left eye use a different color from the right eye, but they use the same file.
