Installing Mods

Hi,

I'm new to Elder Scrolls. ... Very new!

I've played Morrowind maybe 10 times total, and I took to the whole concept of BETHESDA's engenious game-concept right away.

So when Oblivion came out, I had to have it.

Other things in life prevented me from playing it until recently though, but now I am started and I want to get the most out of it that I possibly can.

So I've read up on different aspects of the game; f.ex. efficient leveling.

And that brings me to the topic of this post.

It's about the mod: Skill Diary.

I've downloaded it, but I'm unsure of where to put it (in which folder).

There's no Mods or AddOns folder in Oblivion. There's only Shading, Video and Audio.

So where do we place the mods?

Do we create an AddOn folder?

I'll appreciate a lot if somebody would leave a line with this information.

Thank you in advance!

Callighan,

That was exactly what I needed to know!

Somehow I thought the mod would turn up on it's own in the spellbook (the inventory that you get to by pressing F2-4; or B in Xbox360).

Thanks a lot! :)

Toasty Fresh,

Thank you for your kind words! ^^

And...

Dezdimona,

you and Toasty Fresh are completely right, of course: I should've checked the stickies/FAQ thread before posting about an issue that probably has been covered several times already.

I can't excuse why I didn't do that. But I can tend a reason that stems from me having played a multiplayer game of late where behaviour as well as maintaining of databases and FAQ threads in general are so chaotic and lacking that it's become a habbit to simply post the topic/issue in question right from the start, as a search almost never leads anywhere.

There's no excuse for bringing that type of behaviour over here, and I apologize!

(I hope you'll forgive me).

Ps. The: "How To Install Plugins/Mods, The official thread" is very informative reading. Most - if not all - newcomers can benefit in one way or other from checking this thread out (and it's nothing like the half-hearted writings you see at some other game-fora)!
