Which mod is responsible for changing standard longsword into Oathkeeper model?

Hey, hopefully this is the correct part of the forum.

I reinstalled DAO yesterday and installed a bunch of mods, mostly ones I've used before and some of them were new.

My list is:

Dragon Age Redesigned (incl. Tucked Hair)

Qwinn's Fixpack

White Teeth

No helmet hack

Grey Wardens of Ferelden

Forced Deathblows

Kirkwall Exports

Faster Combat

Skip the Fade

Templars of Ferelden

Of Noble Cast

Hip Sheath (Installed afterwards, so not part of the "problem")

I just installed them normally, no mod manager as I usually don't change mods (and they're also quite slim as far as mod builds go).

I noticed that most/all of the standard longsword models (the far left one in this image: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dragonage/images/7/78/Longswords-concept.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/340?cb=20100808015330) have been replaced by the Oathkeeper model (here: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dragonage/images/4/43/Oathkeeper.jpg/revision/latest/top-crop/width/360/height/450?cb=20121227005455). They still vary in colour, red steel is reddish in colour, iron is grey etc, but I'm still wondering which one of these mods, if any, caused this change. The only one I could think of would be Qwinns fixpack, but it doesn't say anything about it in the readme.

Be aware, this isn't really a problem for me as the Oathkeeper model looks a lot better in my opinion, but I'm still curious what the cause is. So far I've had no other problems, and swords with a different model (Family Sword from HN origin and other special swords) still have their correct models.

Thankful for any help! :)

I'm more than passing familiar with almost all of the mods you've listed so, lets see if we can figure this out.

*cracks knuckles*

A lot of them are easy to eliminate:

Dragon Age Redesigned (incl. Tucked Hair) // Not this. It doesn't affect equipment at all.

Qwinn's Fixpack

White Teeth // Not this. Only affects face textures.

No helmet hack // Not this. (Based on personal experience with the mod and a cursory look at the script sources.

Grey Wardens of Ferelden // Adds one new lonsword model. Doesn't affect Bioware models at all.

Forced Deathblows // Not this. Just changes the chance of deathblow animation trigger.

Kirkwall Exports // Adds two new longsword models; doesn't touch Bioware equipment at all. Not this.

Faster Combat // Only affects weapon attributes, doesn't touch weapon models. Not this.

Skip the Fade // Consists of one NCS (script) file. While I can't SWEAR this isn't the cause, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this probably almost definitely isn't the cause.

Templars of Ferelden

Of Noble Cast // Doesn't affect weapon models via either a GDA or a script. (Blessings upon modders who include their source scripts!) So, not this.

Hip Sheath (Installed afterwards, so not part of the "problem") // Already eliminated by you.

That leaves:

Qwinn's Fixpack

Skip the Fade // Consists of one NCS (compiled script) file. While I can't SWEAR this isn't the cause, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this probably almost definitely isn't the cause.

Templars of Ferelden

So the next thing to is look at the files for those last two mods. Templars o' Ferelden is going to be the easier of the two, so let me download that an take a look at the insides of the files.

Sit tight. /brb

And the mod responsible is... Templars of Ferelden.

This is the Bioware Longsword UTI:

Note the ModelVariation that I've called out. That dictates the model used for the item.

This is the UTI for that same sword (gen_im_wep_mel_lsw_lsw.uti) from the Templars of Ferelden mod. Note the difference in ModelVariation used:

And finally, for confirmation, this is the UTI for the Bioware Oathkeeper. You can see that the ModelVariation is the same as the one used by the ToF longsword.:

So then:

Qwinn's Fixpack

Templars of Ferelden

Mystery solved!

I do love a mystery, so I was glad to help out.

Deleting the UTI for the longsword - gen_im_wep_mel_lsw_lsw.uti - from the Templars of Ferelden folder will probably revert the sword model, should you decide the change is unwanted.

And a very Happy New Year to you, as well!
