Fallout 2 issue (can't save)

So i finally fixed the rainbow colour glitch by installing the high res patch and the only problem left is that i can't save my game. When i try to the error ``unable to save`` appears and the save couldn't be created. I'd really like to start playing this great game as soon as possible. Any help would be highly appreciated.

 

I own the game on Steam and i use windows 7.

Try searching here. Apparently, there are several fixes that work for some people throughout the thread.

I wish I could be more help, but I can say that this probably isn't a Windows 7 compatibility issue, only because I've never heard of anything like this being caused by an OS. I'm not sure, however.

Don't use high-res patch, use the restoration patch. Not only does it fix the invisible kids glitch (saves you lots of confusion in The Den, for example), it's just better, period. Plus, it comes with some special random encounters and a lightsaber after you beat the game. :D

 

After that, the only thing FO2 really needs is a mod that removes the stupid date/time limit, so you can cruise around in your highwayman forever.
