Okay, so tin cans, bent tin cans, empty sunset sarsaparilla bottles, empty nuka cola bottles, empty whiskey bottles, empty beer bottles, coffee mugs, coffee pots, cups, cutting boards, dinner plates, drinking glasses, empty soda bottles, finance clipboards and clipboards of all types, forks, hammers, green plates, irons, large burned books, large destroyed books, large whiskey bottles, metal cooking pans, metal cooking pots, metal spoons, milk bottles, paint guns, paperweights, plungers, pool balls, pots, rakes, red plates, shot glasses, small burned books, small destroyed books, small ruined books, tin plates, wrenches, and more. Now just by this list you can tell that all this stuff must clutter the game, there are over 400 tin cans and bent tin cans combined in the entire game. And all of the other stuff with this must be huge, and put a stress on an engine like GameBryo. So basically the idea is simple, remove all of these items from the world. In case they might be required for a quest or something unforeseen, make an NPC that sells all of these in stock and that re-stocks. Removing this stuff should hugely cut down on stress the game has, these items are small but the effect they can have on an engine like GameBryo in such large quantities is enormous.

well....if you were to go into the geck, only load up new vegas, and then delete the actual item- the "refrence" i believe, then that would theritically remove it from the game, then save as a new mod and activate it.....i dont know what would happen really.

off the top of my head i cant think of any major quest that requires junk, its just there because realistically it would be.....but your looking for performance.

do you know of the "disable" console code? like- spawn a container - loot it - then disable the spawned container....so theres no evidence of you cheating lol.

well theres a code that works in a similar fashion, "zap" im not 100% sure what it does, but it disables the item, and i think it deletes the refrence as well, it was in the fallout wike under the gamebryo commands.

aside from that i know there are all sorts of performance optimizers out there that unclutter new vegas like this one

http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/41713

i dont use it, but ive seen mods like it.

as an alternative i would look into the 4g enabler. my load order is crazy long and unstable, and that utility alone got rid of most of my crashes, and the ones that remain are due to mods THEMSELVES being unstable
