Exile_need
Hi - Help is neededI try to change the excisting mod file: StarterKitLite.espI use FO3Edit 2.0,10 EXP for the job.I open the StarterKitLite.esp in FO3Edit, and scroll down through the Fileheader/Armor/Cell/Block 4/Sub-Block 5/00024512/Temp to Placed Objects.I try to change an items by Right Clicking: Change Form ID and adding the number 0006B534 for the replacement weapon that I chose.Going well so far...Save change files - brings up this message: Count not rename "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3\Data\StarterKitLite.esp" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3\Data\StarterKitLite.esp.backup.2009_01_09_04_27_46".What am I doing wrong?Best Regards Exile
deliverance6
Possibly, the file you're trying to rename is READONLY (like most things in program files, which is why VISTA users shouldnt install to this folder, although it is the default, big thanks for thart idiocy Bethesda!) either that, or you're item ID is wrong, "0006B534" may not be correct based on what order you're files load in. but chances are it's because you're program files folder is READONLY so just rightclick the whole folder, check READONLY on properties and make sure it applies to all folders and subfolders this should solve you're issues
Exile_need
Thanks to Deliverance6 for your answerI have checked the properties for the main file C:\programs (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\ and it says: Read Only.So you are quite right - I'm not allowed to change anything in there.Sorry wasting your time.Exile
