Fixing the blade and blunt problem

Watsup modders. I notice that when i use sigil stones to increase my blade/blunt skill beyond 100 the damage output doesn't increase.. What the hell is up with that?

I think it's pretty unfair that mages can get like a 500 extra magicka from sigil stones which allows to pretty much one shot everything. But at the same time there is no way to increase your damage with a meelee playstyle once you become master at blade or blunt skills.

I would really appreciate if someone made a mod that corrects this issue, or atleast tell me what to do to make one myself?

Most of your skills (with the exception of athletics and acrobatics) and attributes will have a set maximum of 100, although your derived attributes (health, magicka, fatigue and encumbrance) do not. In vanilla Oblivion, this means that increasing any skill apart from those mentioned will have no effect, but increasing attributes above 100 often has partial effects. For example, increasing strength will increase your fatigue and encumbrance, but not your damage output. Increasing Willpower will increase fatigue, but not magicka regeneration.

 

Luckily, the set maximum is not the hardcoded maximum, which is 255. A mod called Ely's Uncapper removes the set limit and will allow you to make use of skills and attributes past 100 ;)
