fryt
I am running into an odd problem. I am running HGEC body meshes and for some reason the game is adding extra portions for the neck, arms, and legs. It appears as though the game is stretching my character out to hit a default height. To test this, I have changed the meshes to make the neck really short, however it seems to have no impact when the game is actually run and the neck length is still abnormally large (Actually its the same length with more of the built in mesh the game supplies). In the past I did have a babs body model set, so my current thought is I might of set some variable when I set that body type up (but since that was 2 years ago I can't recall). So my question is how do I reset the the default height the game gives to your character? The following link is to a picture of my character. If you notice on the left there is a bulge on the neck. This appears to be an extra mesh the game is using to set the character to a different default height. When I load the nif files in nifskope the neck is a lot smaller. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/1...-1231425841.JPG Any help would be useful. I might also be completely wrong with my diagnosis. When I use the H cup the issue is less obvious, and when I use the AA cup size the issue is even worse (we are talking african tribe length necks - the tribe that stretches there necks). Edit: This is happening on all races, even vanilla Oblivian. So it most likely isn't a setting for a specific race. Edit2: Looking at various SS's on the site and it looks like it a common problem (You can sometimes notice a solid band around the neck in the middle that is a darker shade than the neck portion above and below). Also the extra neck doesn't handle textures well and seems to be discolored. However it doesn't always happen and my friend doesn't have the issue, although he uses a different body mod. maYuYang
lol, "african tribe length necks", that's funny^^. I have to admit that this is another problem I never encountered... I would deactivate the pluggy for all custom races AND remove(not delete!) the _male folder under Data/meshes/characters; you could just drag it to your desktop(but be sure no copy of the _male folder is left). Run O then, the game should use the vanilla hight then... If you ask me, I could imagine that the hight settings might be wrong(in the CS, you could check character->races[not sure now], another window will open where you not only can create new races, but also tweak existing ones[if you loaded a custom race pluggy or at least the oblivion.esm{oblivion.esm not as active plugin!!!}]. One of the settings are hight and I think weight. Might be that one of your mods is changing the values like e.g. that resize mod from Fran's). fryt
Well it only seems to be an issue when I am using HGEC body. But I tried it and as soon as I moved the _male folder back the issue was back. Seems to happen even when only oblivion.esm is active. Going to mess around in the CS to try and find the height data now though; which should work once I find the area I need =). Edit: Ok its not the height either. I'm at a loss of what to try next. Looking at HGEC SSs however it looks like it is standard, so Ill just live with it, and change the hair to hide it some. That said now that I have noticed it its one of those things that will keep making me wonder what is up. I guess the next step is doing a fresh install and see at what point it presents itself. Edit2: After trying some more things out I think I know what happened. I equiped a default necklace from the game and it sits halfway up the neck as if it is sitting on the skin. My guess is that is the default point the game thinks is the neck line. All armor worn likewise shows up at that point as if it is the real neckline. My guess is HGEC body sets the neckline lower, but the game wont allow it due to the skeleton.nif the game uses for all humanoids and adds to the neck to make it fit and have the head where the game expects it. That said all armor and custom texture armors seem to cater for this with larger neck textures so any fix would likely make it look even worse.
