SavevsDM
I heartily apologize both if this has already been covered and for the "newbness" of this post, but I just can't find the information elsewhere. I have an idea for a mod that doesn't exist and thought I'd try my hand at creating it myself, but the problem is that I really don't know where to start. So, I'm looking for a link to a tutorial that will show me how to create what I want myself. Basically I want to create a mod like the Bobblehead Delivery mod by Ryvaeus (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1512), but for all the skill books instead. I know it'll be a lot of work, as I'll have to delete 325 objects in the world (25 books for each skill) and then place them all in a different location (probably a big bookshelf or something). So, anyone have a link or suggestions about how I might go about this? I opened up the Bobblehead Delivery mod to take a look, and I understand some of it, but not all of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
SpeedyB64
Have you gone to the G.E.C.K. wiki? It will tell you a lot. What you want to do sounds like it will require some scripting so you will have to learn how to do that.
SavevsDM
Yeah, I've been checking it out, and it looks be awesome for designing areas. But I couldn't find a single thing about deleting existing items from the world and placing them in the existing world. I figured I'd have to do some scripting, too, but I can't even figure out how to open up the scripts in the GECK.
Skree000
The NIFtools wiki is also VERY helpful, but usually only if you are doing changes to assets themselves, not your environment
SpeedyB64
At the top of the G.E.C.K. screen there is a button with a pencil on it that opens the script editor. Deleting things from the world is easy just load a cell and select the object and delete it (if you want to delete all of an object, not recommended, you can use ctrl-f to search and replace the objects. SavevsDM
Lovely, thanks for all your help (and kind demeanor)! I actually got the mod to work and do what I want it to do (at least as far as I was able to test it). Now you can start with all of the skill books if you want. That wasn't actually hard once I figured out just how the program worked!
