lordbyronblack Posted March 23, 2013 Share Posted March 23, 2013 Just an unsolicited opinion from a guy that (usually) quietly peruses the mod listings and downloads the ones he likes;I see an important difference between a "joke" mod where the community is in on the joke, like Cabbage In A Pot, and a "trolling" mod in which the joke is on the downloader. If a mod promises to make your character look like Scarlett Johansen and actually makes your character look like Donald Trump, that's trolling, and I would support that mod being removed. If a mod promises to make your character look like Donald Trump and changes "Fus Ro Dah" to "You're Fired" and delivers just that, why remove it? That sounds like a kick, even if only for five minutes. Cabbage In A Pot delivers exactly what it promises. Very little, to be sure. But if people spend hours setting up screenshots of cabbages in pots in the most unlikely of places, hasn't the mod succeeded in adding to the game?Please take the above with a bit of salt. I`m glad that the Nexus is moderated, and I don`t begrudge those brave souls for putting their foot down now and again.Thank you to those who take the time to read this. You know you're having fun when you've got armor loaded in NifSkope and you're trying to adjust it to fit on a cabbage. That didn't pan out for me. jiffyadvent Posted March 23, 2013 Share Posted March 23, 2013 What I don't get is how a lot of people were debating and flaming the mod and what it does.The mod description clearly stated "Added a cabbage in a pot near Riverwood" it placed an pot in a cabbage for aesthetic purposes either for humor (which is subjective and irrelevant) as humor is just a state of mind. When I first saw the mod I though "Ha funny, "hours of new adventures" lol" that statement the author made was not an objective description and should not be treated as such he meant that it was up to the mod user to decide what do to with the content he meant. I don't even get how people even call it a joke and flame on it, I mean it's just a cabbage in a pot placed in a decent location. A joke mod for me would be considered a mod that has a description stating it "does this" and does completely nothing or the opposite in-game or I may have simple just gotten a dummy plugin of a mod. I mean seriously the only maybe error of the mod author was a misleading "Hours of new adventure" which for some reason a lot of people didn't seem to get and demand reason for that subjective opinion of the mod author Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It brought out a community in an anonymous space and taught some people a bit about themselves and others. In the end, I think the mod actually did alot better than the creator ever even imagined it would have. I was glad to have participated in this brief and soon forgotten saga of humanity and all its aspects both good/bad.
