jaysus
http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=82738 - the thread is better than the article niftools.sourceforge.net has all the tools you need to import/export models and if you need to make textures youll have to get some kind of *.dds converter like the nvidia photoshop plugin aswell
hackeysack
I'm stumped, I create a model in blender, but when i make my texture map its all disorganizedits in little shards, would be hard to texture those little pieces,anyways...I'll get to the point. I've been exporting my texture map to a .DDS fileI've been exporting my blender model to a .NIF fileI think im getting confused on the UV map or somethingand when I open the NIF in NIFSCOPE I usually see nothing I guess I need to figure out why Nifscope isn't recognizing my NIF. If anyone can help me, I'd be gratefulI've read so many tutorials, I must be overlooking something.
neunen
@hackeysack for the uvmap, check out some of the tutorials like these http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_N...o/UV_Map_Basicshttp://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/b...asic-uv-mapping it will help, if you learn how and where to make seams, also i find i get better results if iuse the basic unwrap (instead of smart projections) and unwrap it in parts ie, unwrap the stock of a gun, then the handle etc, then reposition all the parts manuallyrather then just trying to let the computer decide the whole thing. as for the blank nif, try this: make sure you are in object mode, and have the mesh selectedbefore you export. if you dont have anything selected youll export a blank file. hackeysack
OK I figured it out.I was selecting all. and seeming every single edge.I didn't realize I had to manually seem each edge. thanks, now I wont have to texture like an old lady sewing a parachute. :)
