eskimo68
After 135h and about 600 saves I'm done. And no, I'm not coming back for a second round :) Did Good, Evil and FEV endings but there wasn't that much difference. And the game crashed after each ending. But I must have had like 200-300 crashes during play so I was getting used to it. And yes, I did everything I could to the bloody Nvidia drivers. 8800 GTS (with water cooling so it wasn't a temp issue) has to have antialiasing off which took me ages to figure out but I still had crashes 2-3 times per hour. Yes, that's why I have so many saves :). What I really miss at the end is statistics, how many objects/locations discovered. Shouldn't be that hard to put in later in a DLC either. If the object is gone, I have it. Basically visited almost every place. Yes, I got the map marker for Vault 87 (but died twice trying). Greatest achivement. Costed like 100 RadAways. Looted everything for any object with higher value than 1 :). THAT was tedious. At the end my locker in Megaton was so full the game started slowing down when transferring. I had to kill off Dogmeat just to get both Cross and Charon to make the carrying less tedious. I was somewhat amused at dead people still yelling thief. The ending forcing me dead was just bogus (as I had mapped Vault 87 :). As for weapons I pretty much used the following:Chinese Assault RifleEugene (for the while I had ammo, most scarce ammo apart from Ailen ammo IMHO, mostly used Eugene for fun though, might have been my first decent named weapon)Xuanlong (until Charon dropped it somewhere, never gave him another named weapon again)Vengeance (only during the final Mission and in very though spots)Alien blaster (twice, thought I might need it for something) Fat man was a big disappointment. Against any moving target it was so slow that adjusting for height and probable location took 12 shots on the only benemoth I tried it on. MIRV was better and had me laugh a lot (Fired it on Megaton as I could not set off the bomb anymore). But useless as even MIRV wasn't enough to take out Lamplight. No kiddie killing :(. Got repair up to 100 early which was a mistake in the sense that I think I could have made 100 in each skill if I had realized you get roughly 60 points per skill from books and bobbleheads. Only did 8 intense training because I picked Swift Learner and Lady Killer which were fairly useless. Probably the best Fallout so far although they could have skipped all the empty boxes. That was just unnecessarily tedious for a packrat like me. Fun realization when packing away the important save files. I still have my save files from Fallout 2 dated 1999.11.21 :) Whew, just had to get this off my chest. My hand hurts, mainly because I didn't realize I could auto move with Q until after 110h. Aaaaaaaaaargh.
Tchos
So it is possible to get that Vault 87 map marker, eh? I tried it a couple of times before figuring it must be impossible, but I didn't try using a ton of Radaway. :)
jaosals42
So if you're not going to play it again, what'll happen when the DLC's are released? You not thinking about getting them, I presume (I'm not, for now at least)?

Imo I'm getting the continued story line one for sure, Dieing was just retarded and the continuation of the story will make me loose interest a lot slower

I don't think I have played half that with the five 'toons I have played with.
eskimo68
So if you're not going to play it again, what'll happen when the DLC's are released? You not thinking about getting them, I presume (I'm not, for now at least)? Play from start... but I'm already considering doing it once more just because I had fun. Partially because Red Alert 3 is so excrutingly boring. But FO3 needs to be patched enough not to crash with Nvidia 8800 GTS cards all the time first. And meanwhile... it's Anchorage time. Time to go home from work :)
