deliverance6
see the pinned threads in "Tech support" forum. there are about 5000 causes of Crash to desktops for fallout 3. the very best starting point is to update your GFX drivers, update you're sound drivers, install windows XP service pack 2 (NOT PACK 3), press CTRL+ALT+DEL and close every background process that isn't 100% essential (antivirus, torrents etc) and then try again. it will work eventually, just takes a bit of effort sadly

deliverance6
ahh, vista =\ not entierly sure how to help then if you're running vista since i dont. sound drivers wise, just go to device properties, find you're sound card/multimedia port and just select properties for it, then try hitting "update" followed by "yes, connect to the web to update". try this audio codec pack, i was using a differant one before F3 and it wouldnt load but it does with this one.http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm
ZS1
Yeah but I cant find a driver for my sound card. It just says in device manager High Definition Audio Device. Whats that? I think that means you're running on the soundchip installed on your mainboard. Try finding out which one it uses (most likely Realtek) by digging out the handbook/asking your retailer etc, then update it through that company's website. Do you have Vista32 or 64?
