Twizzler77 Posted April 12, 2013 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Infinity, it's quite easy, actually. If you have Photoshop, you only need to download nVidia Normal Map Filter. Now, this works for creating high frequency details: cracks, runes, scratches, writings, etc. I threw together a quick example during lunch. This is about ~ 5 mins in nVidia filter: http://imageshack.us/a/img849/6138/demonvidianormalmapfilt.jpg This shows what the grayscale looks like once converted to normal map and the difference the blur can make. It really is a simple process and is great for overlaying fine details on top of an existing normal map. If you have more questions, feel free to ask!
