Infinite Loadscreen sometimes

Hey guys,

im having the problem that I sometimes get an infinite loading screen in skyrim but I don't know which mod causes that.

All dawnguard mods are disabled since I have not bought any of the dls yet.

And I also didn't have the problem from the start.

The only problem with it freezing is that I need to reboot my laptop because I can't close skyrim once its frozen.

I could close it via some plugins+window mode but the loss of fps is too high for me to use that method.

 

Oh btw. I think it could have something to do with saving because very rarely my game also crashes instantly after quick saving via F5.

Not looked much at your load order or anything but usually when I'm stuck at loading screen it's due to things like high res LOD textures or just high res textures in general, you run out of memory. Can happen even you've got tons of memory, it's just the engine's fault. Weaker computers CTD, stronger ones get stuck on loading screens.

 

So the first things I'd try to disable would be graphical enhancement mods, especially high res environmental textures and LOD mods.

 

Last time I had this type of problem it was caused by 4k LOD trees, had to take it down to 2k.

The only thing I have got activated in terms of environmental texture mods would be Lush Trees and Grass but it also sometimes crashes inside of caves :/.

I just need to find a method to just shut the Skyrim process down once its stuck WITHOUT using windowed mode..

I just need to be able to exit skyrim once im in the infinite loading screen because alt+f4 and the taskmanager are not working.

It's your load order. Run BOSS, then move SkyUI to the top, after the unofficial patches. Also, modify tesv.exe to allow for LAA.

 

To exit Skyrim when it fuds out, use ctrl+alt+delete, rather than that other task manager shortcut.

 

If you don't get greeted with that menu-screen, you need to configure windows 7.

I am using Boss and it doesn't fix the problem.

Sky UI loads after the unofficial patches. - Do you want me to have Sky UI load before the unofficial patch? Meaning SkyUi comes before the Patch in the list?

That shortcut just puts me in a mode where skyrim is in a huge window which can not be minimized so i can't click (theres no mouse) or kill the process.

For people interested this program run in administrator mode lets me kill skyrim once its stuck but it doesn't fix the root of the problem.

 

Also what do you mean by "Also, modify tesv.exe to allow for LAA."?

The internet says if you play skyrim via steam with the latest patch 4gb ram is already enabled?

I am having similar issues and it seems to have been mostly after dragonborn, I will leave a cave or dungeon and get (sometimes) endless load screen im running windowed (boarder less) as I always have and the task manager only kills the game fully. Sucks I have tried a lot of things so far cant seem to find the key, but it hasnt always happened.

I had a similar issue. What fixed it for me was opening my Skyrim.ini file and deleting the entirety of the [MapMenu] section. I think it was more specifically uLockedObjectMapLOD and uLockedTerrainLOD. I just deleted the entire section and it fixed it for me.
