ShmooZ
Used to be in Windows 7 that I could click on a texture and view how the texture was compressed in my status bar. Now in Windows 10 I cannot see how textures are compressed anywhere, not even in Gimp. DXT1, DXT3, and DXT5 are not showing anywhere. What am I missing? thumbincubation
There's a feature I never knew existed until now, and really wish I had known about. It would have made my life so much easier.
jple
That feature was unfortunately removed in Windows 10. You can still check the compression with image viewers like IrfanView, XnView MP etc. Some tools were released by Nvidia as well.
thumbincubation
Thank you, CzechHero. I didn't realize Nvidia had released tools to do this. Do you know, offhand, if either GIMP or Paint.net have this capability, and I've just somehow missed it?
