BananaBandito
I am having this problem now with the full release of BG3, it was easy to mod just fine during Early Access.I posted this in another thread in the BG3 specific forum on here: I am having the same problem, it seems Vortex is doing "something" to delete the "load order" then spit out an error:"Failed to write load order""Please run the game at least once and create a profile in-game" But when I run the game, it gives me the "Failed to load the main menu from the current game mod. The main menu in that mod requires the level. Make sure to clear any local mods and try again." error. The only way I can fix that to boot up the game again is delete %AppData%\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\I can then boot up the game to play it, but once I try to mod it again with Vortex is spits out the "Failed to write load order" error again and makes BG3 spit out the "Failed to load the main menu from the current game mod" error...It has to be a problem with Vortex, it worked just fine during Early Access. I even followed their instructions for preparing for the full release. *Could Vortex be expecting profiles when the game no longer uses them? Edit:This is what the error in Vortex shows under details: TypeError: Cannot create property 'node' on string '' at D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar.unpacked\bundledPlugins\game-baldursgate3\index.js:401:39 at Generator.next (<anonymous>) at fulfilled (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar.unpacked\bundledPlugins\game-baldursgate3\index.js:28:58) at tryCatcher (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\util.js:16:23) at Promise._settlePromiseFromHandler (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:547:31) at Promise._settlePromise (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:604:18) at Promise._settlePromise0 (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:649:10) at Promise._settlePromises (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:729:18) at _drainQueueStep (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:93:12) at _drainQueue (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:86:9) at Async._drainQueues (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:102:5) at Async.drainQueues (D:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:15:14) Big thanks, having the same error and would not have figured out to delete the Appdata folder. Inside folder "C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles" do you have more folders then just Public? It should only be the Public folder, so delete any folder besides Public. After that Vortex started working for me, but an issue your gonna have is that when you deploy or change load order the game will crash or become stuck in a neverending loading screen trying to load the main menu. Vortex removes a needed section in the modsettings.lsx file which is need for the game to even work. So under <node id="Mods"> and then <children> section of modsettings.lbx you need to add this section <node id="ModuleShortDesc"> <attribute id="Folder" type="LSString" value="GustavDev"/> <attribute id="MD5" type="LSString" value=""/> <attribute id="Name" type="LSString" value="GustavDev"/> <attribute id="UUID" type="FixedString" value="28ac9ce2-2aba-8cda-b3b5-6e922f71b6b8"/><attribute id="Version64" type="int64" value="36028797018963968"/></node>after this has been added the game should work with mods. But remember that everytime you deploy or change the load order you need to edit modsettings.lbx to re-add the above section.
N7hellblazer
That didn't work for me. Load order is not a thing with patch 9.
anomalic
hello all, any update regarding Vortex & BG3 support ?cant wait to install mods the easy way
rmm200
I could sure use some guidelines on how to install BG3 mods with Vortex.I got the mod HighlightEverything, and Vortex prompted me to install LSLIB/Devine Tool and Full Release Mod Fixer. After Deploy, is there anything I need to do? Do I ever need to run those tools myself? My game still runs with no error messages, but I have no idea if HighlightEverything is working.
kevhoff
I tried installing LSLib/Devine and it crashed everything out. Had to delete files, saved games and profiles to get it running at all.
