ReptileTheInvisible
Throwing a shot in the dark here because two heads are always better than one - I keep getting crashes to the desktop whenever I pass the mountains South East of Riften. My first instinct was to update, verify, reinstall and validate files/mods/scripts to isolate what was the offending error but after about 5 hours of testing I couldn't seem to figure out the outlier. I searched for similar CTD near Riften and found one at the exact location I'm in as well from about 7 years ago. My current save is at Lost Tongue Overlook and if I venture too far East it will CTD. I've played this save for about 7 months and haven't had any major CTD near any locations except this one. I even traveled all the way around the eastern mountain and only crashed when approaching the opposite side of Lost Tongue Overlook. My gut feeling is either a texture error caused by a mod or some kind of error with the Dawnguard DLC because that's the only other major thing out that way. I am currently using Vortex to manage my mods and haven't figured out how to paste a list of plugins so when I do I'll update this and post them here. Mainly looking to see if anyone else has had a similar issue in Skyrim SE
Rossogia
Was having the exact same issue, hard CTD every single time at specific region south of riften. My problem was using 3dNPC but I didn't have the patch from the 'optional' files, which corrected some navmesh issues in that area (all on nexus under 3dnpc). Soon as I installed it, it seems to be all solved. Completely blind guess solution but figured I'd throw it out there.

Thank you so much. 3dNPC was probably not finding any NavMesh like you exactly said. <3 May your roads lead you to warm sands.
