johnnymathis
So I was crushed to see my ancient GFX card could not run Fallout 3 after it came out (expected it but hey, I had a glimmer of hope). So finally the old ancient graphics card crapped out and I bought a temporary card to hold me over until I build a whole new computer after I work some more. So what I'm asking is will Fallout 3 be enjoyable on the machine I have now or should I wait until I build the new rig so I don't frustrate myself? Specs: CPU: Pentium D 3.0 Ghz (Dual Core)GPU: ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro 512 MBRAM: 2 GB DDR2 800 To get right to the point: I know this system can run Fallout 3 (systemrequirementslab.com ftw) but can it run it at a playable FPS on all graphics settings set to low. Oblivion runs well with this setup, fyi.

maYuYang
HD 2400 with 512MB?Well, I have HD2600, but with an Athlone X2 64 dual core. My settings are maxed out and I get something like 30-40 fps which is really good.I could imagine that FO3 will run even on mid-high settings, but you won't get 60fps. johnnymathis
I will of course be running this on medium-low settings. Thanks for your help. I was just asking because I got Crysis which made my GPU cry for its mommy. I have been wary about getting new games lately.
Cirkopath
You definitely can run just fine. All your specs are significantly better than mine and i'm able to run the game just fine. [EDIT: Just fine to me = low on all settings but textures, and lots of stuttering when there's LOTS of gun fire. heh.]
