Help: discerning the transmundane

I can't seem to find this problem anywhere so i came here. I collected all the bloods and silas disintegrated like normal, but when i click to take ( now read after the new updates) it goes straight to reading the book. Then nothing happens. I don't get the skill points and nothing magical happens. I click again to take it and the quest mark is still telling me to take it even though it is in my inventory. I have dropped and picked it up and nothing happens. I have gone back to a previous save, same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm heading to bed now but there are some console commands you can use to reset or make the game think you completed quests. I gave someone else a walkthru on the basics here:

Here is a list of the quests: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Quests You can get the quest id's there and the stage of the quests on the bottom of the quest pages.

 

Here you can find the different command and what they do under "Quest Commands" http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Skyrim)

 

You just open the console and type something like this:

 

Setstage MB12 60

 

Command Quest ID Stage of Quest

That doesnt seem like it would work though. I would like to have the oghma infinium work. There would be no point in just completing it, and i doubt going back a stage will fix the problem. Possibly, but it might make it even buggier. I did use console commands to get dark brotherhood to start. And one more time when it didnt continue, seems to be working now. But i would like to get the book. And cheating for it, well it just doesnt feel right. Doesnt feel like i deserve it.
