FizonFiRE
Can someone tell/show me how to install mods that have all of their assets in a BSA file? I have no idea how to do this using FOMM.
jazzisparis
Simply dump those into your FNV 'Data' folder (default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Fallout New Vegas\Data).
FizonFiRE
Simply dump those into your FNV 'Data' folder (default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Fallout New Vegas\Data).Tried it before I posted here. Doesn't work. Thanks for trying though. Edit: New thought. Do mods that I install now apply to old save games? jazzisparis
Well, generally speaking, you should install any mod according to the instructions specified by the mod's author. Mods that are distributed with their assets packed in a BSA archives are installed exactly the same way as any other mod.Could you specify which mods you are trying to install, that are giving you trouble? Edit: New thought. Do mods that I install now apply to old save games?Yes, the moment you load that saved game. However, though rare, there are exceptions. It is always important to read the description/readme, before installing a new mod.
FizonFiRE
At the moment, http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/41687/ (using non lings) I've done other companion mods for Boone and even one for Yes Man. This is the first BSA I've come across and first time I'm having a problem. First time I just extracted the BSA into the data folder with the esp. Later I tried extracting the BSA into it's individual folders. I tried messing around with using FOMM and doing it manually, but I can't get it to work. jazzisparis
I downloaded that mod. There are two files in the installation package: ESP and the BSA.Again, if you haven't already, make absolutely sure you extracted both files into the 'Data' folder. Now, open FOMM, and in your load order list (don't activate the mod from the package manager), make sure 'A Better Cass.esp' is checked. That's all there is to it, installation-wise.If it still doesn't work, well, it really depends on what, exactly, doesn't work (i.e. missing models/textures). You should then seek help from the author, or post a comment on the board there.
FizonFiRE
Doesn't work. I'll search for other BSA mods and see if I can get one of them to work. Thanks for your help.
